Review: Love F Hotel by fashiontv
Last week I had a chance to escape to Bali (again) and stayed in a surprisingly nice hotel: Love F Hotel by Fashiontv. As I was quite impressed with the hotel (mostly with the designs and interiors), I thought it was only fitting if I shared a bit of my experience there.
At first, I was shocked to hear the name of the hotel from the tour guide (yes, I joined a tour with my mom). Love hotel? Like, what kind of hotel will name itself love hotel right on the bat? But then he said it was Love F Hotel, and I suddenly remembered the exact hotel he meant. On my previous trip to Bali in 2016, I had seen the hotel when I walked by the Legian area, and had thought that the hotel looked fancy and very festive-like from the outside. To actually be able to stay in the very same hotel I had been interested in 2 years ago this year (yep, confusing sentence here) was frankly pretty amazing. Was it a coincidence? Nah, I'd just call it fate.
Okay, back to the 4-star hotel. This hotel is definitely a boutique hotel with young people on its mind, strategically located in the heart of Legian, Bali's hottest tourist spot with 24-hour entertainment. Because it's somehow related to the fashion channel, ftv, everything in the lot bears the ftv's diamond symbol. When I say everything, I mean every single, little thing from the wall decorations, lights, ceilings, beddings, even to its soaps and shower curtains. Electro-pop music is always played in full blast, especially at night, when the Love Bar is open. Looking from the outside at night, it doesn't really look like a hotel; it looks like a night club with its flashing lights and loud music. To be there with my mom and a group of older people sure felt awkward. I wish I was there with my friends instead, so we could go to the bar at night - couldn't do that with my mom.
Upon entering the front door, you will find a giant LED display at the end of the long corridor and red tiles resembling a runway. You'll feel like a model walking down the runway. The lobby is not the most spacious, but it has got quite a few sofas and armchairs to just chill. There are a swimming pool, a few guest rooms, and a bar called Black Diamond on the same floor as well. There are a total of 8 floors in the hotel, with the upper most being the place for Love Bar and some suites. I have to say you can find every place you normally expect to find in a 4-star hotel: a bar, a spa, a swimming pool, a restaurant & a cafe, though there isn't a fitness center anywhere in sight.
During my 3 nights there, I stayed in the standard room, which was not as spacious as I had thought it would be, but comfortable enough. The bathroom, however, was pretty small and there wasn't a bath tub. Hey, at least there was hot and cold shower! I also found all the standard amenities (hair drier included), and nothing seemed to be broken, so I was satisfied.
Another thing I enjoyed from my stay was the choices of food for the breakfast buffet. There were plenty, from hot dish to cool dish, mostly fusion food, and they were tasty. I especially liked the pancakes they served. Since I had just started being a vegetarian, I couldn't eat the other food like fried rice, porridge, noodles, chicken soup, but I could tell from my mom that they were okay. They were always ready to refill the dish anytime, which was another plus. Isn't it annoying to find most of the charger plates almost empty just because you come a little late? Fortunately, that wasn't the case with this hotel.
In general, for IDR 588000++ per night, you get what you deserve, and if you like a lively atmosphere and appreciate rather unique decorations, you'll most likely enjoy your stay at Love F hotel. It's also nice to be able to hang out in a cool bar and just come back down a few floors to sleep, right? You can get a little tipsy and drunk without worrying how to get back. ;)
PS: I can't say much about my trip to Bali this year except for the fact that it ALWAYS rained when I was there. :( I'll come back to get my tan when it's sunny!
PPS: All the pictures were taken from my phone, raw, without any editing, so please excuse the mediocre, sometimes low quality!
