Hello November!
Trying to blog at least once a month is no easy feat for me lately. I've been slacking off way too much, and my mind is occupied with countless other thing that I can't seem to be bothered to write anything. Today, however, I decided to do a little recap of things I've been doing or been trying to get done in the past few months.
1. All The Light We Cannot See - Anthony Doerr
I've been reading this book forever, but it seems never ending. Set during the devastating World War II, its story is heavily filled with figurative and descriptive words which makes every scene so rich yet so tiring for lazy readers like me. Its narration is strong and each character is distinct and well thought of, resulting in a vivid story-telling which deserves a Pulitzer's Award indeed. But it's admittedly not my cup of tea, thus it takes even longer for me to finish. I'm still reading it, however, and swear to my self that I will, by any means, finish what I started.
2. Heroes Reborn
When I was in high school, Heroes was the one for me. The only TV series that got me glued to the TV screen every week, waiting excitedly until its series got cut off and wasn't renewed. Then this year it's brought back to the silver screen, titled Heroes Reborn, with brand new characters and storyline that didn't really follow the original series. The excitement is still there, and though the new Heroes Reborn might not be as much as a breakthrough like the original, I'm still curious as to what will happen in this new installment.
3. The Vampire Diaries - The Originals
I have started to fall out of love for these 2, ever since their stories got so heavily dramatized and not even as magical as they first started. Season 7 has kicked off, but I haven't even watched season 6. I still download every single episode nonetheless. I keep thinking to myself although I don't even like them that much anymore, I still have to know what happens to Salvatore brothers and Mikaelson family. I have a lot of catching-up to do, that's for sure. But they ain't going anywhere for now.
4. Once Upon A Time
This spin-off of old fairy tales is always a sweet treat to the childish side of mine, and with every episode unfolds, I always end up wanting for more. It can be kind of repetitive midways, however, and that's one of the reasons why I haven't continued watching where I left off last year. Ouch.
All that being said, this year so far hasn't been that productive for me in terms of reading or watching TV. I don't pick up any new series, nor do I read more books than I did last year. Life somehow always gets in the way; travelling gets in the way -- not that I mind. No. Not at all.
Hello, November! I hereby welcome you with wide open arms.
