Happy international women's day and happy braces day!

So, through Google I found out today is the international women's day, and now i also celebrate this day specially as the day I put on braces. In the previous post I told you about tooth extraction, and how it didn't hurt. Today I'm gonna tell you briefly what it felt like to have stainless braces on your teeth when you're 22, like me.

First of all, it meant that your mouth feels full. Like you have food you can't eat, stuck on your teeth, and it weights some pounds.

Do not worry about the process, because dentistry sure has developed a lot since yesterday, and putting on braces isn't painful at the littlest bit. You just have to be prepared to let your mouth open 2 hours straight (depends on how good your orthodontist is). The aftermath, however, might be difficult to bear.

When I'm writing this, it hasn't been 2 hours since I went back from the dentist, so I haven't felt anything excruciating like all the stories I had collected from my other braces friend. So far the braces leave a weird taste in my mouth, and I have troubles opening and closing my mouth because the braces keep getting in the way. But I guess that's normal, and I will get used to it soon.

If it's any good, you can choose the rubber colors, and make your teeth more colorful! I personally picked white, because seriously I'm not a fifth grader, and I don't want colorful teeth. I want white teeth.

The downside of using braces:
-It limitates you from eating whatever and however you like. On the other hand, you also automatically start eating healthy, because you don't want anything bad happen to the braces.
- Dental braces aren't cheap. Mine costs $500, and you have to see the dentist regularly every 2 or 3 weeks.
- you will look weird. somehow. Your friends will look at you differently at first, but they'll forget about it a week later.
- for the first few weeks, it will be hard to eat, but do not let that hinder you from eating. Unless you want to make use of that weeks to lose some weights. ;)
- Some people feel shy and embarassed. But don't. Be confident. Braces is the new trend! With many models and types, wearing braces doesn't have to make you feel embarassed about yourself. Most people now act indifferently toward people with braces.

To sum it up, wearing braces is not the end of the world. Remember that your teeth will look so much better in several years, and you will miss your braces once they're gone. Enjoy the moment, and live in the now.

ps: Happy international women's day! Let's rock the world, women!
