Is it March already?

How are humans judged?
Is it by the clothes they wear? The jobs they do? The money they earn and spend? The god they worship? The values they hold?

For me, not judging people is an impossibility - a hypocrisy. We can't help but judge, in one way or another.
For me, I judge people by how they treat non-human animals. I can't help but scour at how they devour every blood and flesh delectably while speaking of loving animals. How is it possible? Condemning the killing of one species and justifying others? Refusing to eat certain animals but allowing the rest? The inconsistency is incomprehensible.

I want to believe that they just know no better. The abnormality they live in is normal. For a very long time, it was normal for me too.

Don't be preachy, they say. People can eat and do whatever they want. It has been like this for the longest time. Yet nobody can give me a definite answer when probed why. They turn blind and deaf.

Change is the only thing that's constant. Yet no one seems to be willing to change for the better. People like to be deceived, still. Shutting down common sense, pointing fingers at another - anything, really - as long as they can right the wrong.

Ah, why does this feel like a losing battle?

The truths are there, out in the open for everyone to see. But they choose to feign ignorance. They choose to give in to their ego.

But not me. Not us. In desperation I found solace. Every day more people are opening up to the idea of greener food. There's a rising demand. It's a new trend. It is possible.

I long for a world where the concept of killing for food is outdated. Barbaric. Prehistoric; where the concept of torturing for fashion is crime.

I long for a world where harmony means living alongside all creatures. No more invasion. No more threats. No more unnatural deaths.

I long for a world where my new normal is everyone's normal.

I long for a world where humankind thrives. Not because we kill others, but because we nurture others.

I long for a world where the word 'vegan' or 'vegetarian' is no longer needed. Not because it no longer existed, but because there would be no need to label a lifestyle everybody live in.

I long for a world where I don't have to read labels to ensure my grocery is suffering-free.

Until then,
I will keep doing what I do with what I have in the limited time I possess.

A perfect world is a flawed world. That I know for sure.

But if the current minority could be a majority? That's what I would call the real victory.
