First Trip of the Year: BALI

A few days before Lunar New Year, I escaped to a paradise on Earth named Bali. It wasn't a carefully planned trip, and was only for 2 days as well, but it's Bali, so it was never a waste of time.

For a 2-day-trip, I visited quite a lot of places, mainly outside Kuta, the tourist center that's always packed with people from all over the world. From the day I set foot in Bali,I took off to Pandawa beach and Dreamland, where I didn't swim, of course, but managed to get myself half-soaked somehow, due to a poor decision to keep my jeans on instead of short pants. Luckily, the weather was on my side, so I didn't get fully roasted under Bali's blazing sun. Day one of the trip ended in Tanah Lot, where I hoped to see the sunset but it was too cloudy for the sun to be seen.

On the second day, I went even further up to the north of Bali to see Bedugul and Ubud. I survived the long hours of drive despite the heavy traffic, and everything paid off when I breathed some fresh air in Bedugul, saw many monkeys in Ubud, and even played with some dogs in one of BAWA's (Bali Animals Welfare Association) shop there. Maybe I was too excited, or I didn't want my holiday to end, but I couldn't sleep at all on my last night. I kept repeating the days and all the memories I made, all the pork I ate and things I didn't get to do.

Arriving on the airport and flying back to Surabaya were bleak and event less; though I was content to get home to my precious fur kid once again. Before I knew it, it was Lunar New Year, and I was grinning widely from all the extra money I gained that day.

To all my readers, wherever you are, I wish you peace and prosperity all the way through the year of the fire monkey. May you be blessed abundantly, as always. :)
