Big Spending!

It's just another story, from the daily life of an impulsive spender.

With an average salary, I decided to shop for some clothes this month, thinking that it's been a while since I last updated my wardrobe. I came with a plan; to get new shorts, 1 new top, and new high waist jeans. Oh and yes, I got them all. I went back home happy. Then I started to record all of my outcomes in my budgeting app. Holy mother of cow, have I gone way out of my budget. *faint

Lessons learnt: Set a more precise budget. While shopping, I didn't really think of the price tags, I just thought 'ooh this looks cute, that one is adorable,' and so on and on. I checked them out, without realizing what I bought were probably more expensive than they worth, which, by the way, I refused to admit. I stand strong that those pieces of clothing I bought were great deals and came with quality. Does this make me a shopaholic? No. I'm just an impulsive buyer with a determined heart. Once I set my eyes on something, I have to get it, no matter how.

Meanwhile, I'm still thinking of the outfit I'll wear for Chinese New Year. I can't wear a crop tee and high waist jeans for that day, it's just not appropriate, given the situation that I'll face: visiting families, meeting elders, exchanging greetings and so on and forth. I need to be more formal. In short, I might have to go looking for another outfit, preferably a dress. Now, that's the worst way to go over-budget. :(

Sacrifice has to be made. I hereby declared not to eat lunch or snack at work, no matter how hungry I am. I'll bring snacks from home, stuff my stomach with water and cereal, and survive. Living on a super duper tight budget starts now. I hope it's all worthwhile. Time will prove itself, precisely on February 19. :')
