It's a wedding post!

She's married. It still feels unreal. |
Not long after a tiresome month, January, I came back risen from the almost dead today, exactly the next day after lunar new year (or Chinese new year, whichever you prefer). I'd like to split the post about wedding in January and lunar new year in a separate post, so this one will be the post about wedding.
I might or might not have told random people who happened to be trolling my blog about my sister's big wedding day. either case, let me now tell you that my elder sister is officially a married woman! My sister is the one who's been with me and sharing a room along with its content all my life, for more than 22 years. So watching her walking down the aisle and exchanging vows with her husband at the altar was touching. But hey, wedding is the right place to shed a tear or two, right? And now you can say that I'm the queen of my room. I own it all, since she has moved away to her new house. Halleluya to that. ;)
the wedding day was nothing to be told about. it's like any wedding in the world. Where lots of people eating, congratulating you, laughing, joking and taking pictures, etc, etc, etc. I got the chance to wear 2 dresses that day, one for the holy matrimony in the church, and the second one for the evening party in a hotel. Let me tell you what it looks like through pictures.
The picture on the above right is (*blushing) me in my mint-green mini dress that I wore for the holy matrimony. It's very simple, an off-shoulder style, and I let my hair down so the dress didn't feel empty. though very simple, I really like the dress, and I might be able to wear it to other person's wedding someday. On the left, you can see me hanging with my nieces in the church like I was some kind of a baby sitter. :| Me & kids? Not the best combo. I'm never good with those alien-like humans.
My sister (and her in laws) picked vintage as the main theme of the wedding. Hence a lot of green were used. Though I must say that I didn't feel anything vintage aside from the flowers on the main stage. We paid heaps of money and these were all they did? Shame on you, EO, shame on you. I wasn't impressed with what the decorator did to the place.
The food, however, is a totally different thing. As you can see in the picture, there were abundant of dishes served on the table, a total of 9 dishes (including appetizer, main course, and dessert). I really enjoyed the food, even though I kinda lost my appetite. I was utterly heartbroken when I first found out that sharks' fin was used as soup in this wedding. I'm highly concerned about what animals to eat and what not, and sharks' fin is definitely on the top of my list. I felt even worse since I couldn't do anything to change that, I knew too late, and I had little power to change the menu. Sorry sharks, humans are greedy and selfish. :(
What to say. It's my sister and beside her is her husband, who happens to be my bro-in-law now. I always want a brother, but even after I have a brother-in-law, that doesn't make me a little sister to a big brother, if you know what I mean. ;)

Like I've told you before, I changed my dress for the night. And my night dress got everybody talking about. They're head over heels for this 'bright spicy red' dress. And so was I. I can't deny that the dress is so pretty and elegant, with a little touch of sexy. It's unfortunate I didn't have a picture of the dress from the back, since it reveals some skin. HAHA. Anyway, it's a good dress. End of story.
For a closure, I present to you the one and only family picture we took on that very day, aside from the ones the photographers managed to take as one of their duties that I hope turns out well to be hung on the wall in my living room.
My little ohana is far from perfect. All these years living together, we still have a lot we don't understand about each other. Now one of us has gone to start building her own family. It's no simple task. It's not an easy road. But you have my blessing, sister. Build a better family, learn from our mistakes, and never repeat them. You are still my sister, no one can change that, not even your in laws and husband. You will always have us, and you are always welcome in our house. I wish you made the right choice, I wish you don't regret what you've chosen, and I wish you abundant joy and happiness with your husband and future children.
