Girl with braces
BIG NEWS! I never thought I'd ever say or write this before, but it's getting real. I'm about to begin my journey as a girl (or woman) with braces.
How did that happen, you ask?
Well, long time ago, I found out that my teeth has a light malocclusion case, my lower teeth aren't where they should be. Ideally, all upper teeth fit slightly over the lower teeth (credit: MedlinePlus), but mine are the opposite. A dentist suggested an operation for me, which of course I rejected, another one suggested I put on braces. The latest option was considered but had never really been taken into action until recently.
It was my dad who was way more excited about getting me braces. He asked me to go to his dentist, then had one or two or three consultation before finally deciding that I'd get braces. Believe me, I had been in deep thoughts and contemplations before I could finally make up my mind. So, long story short, I had one of my lower teeth extracted yesterday, and I'll have another extraction next week, and 2 weeks after the braces will be put on my teeth.
I have heard various scary stories about braces and how they will significantly change your lifestyle, but it never occurred to me that the day will come when I will be the one to experience this. The dentist said it would take about 2 years to reconstruct my teeth, and thus my journey begins. Hopefully all the pains will be paid off in the end, with me having a beautiful smile with a more normal teeth structure.
PS: Don't worry, I'll most definitely post a lot of braces stories here, so that people like me can learn something from it.
PPS: Tooth extraction doesn't hurt. Trust me.
