Wreck it Ralph - "I wanna be a good guy"

Wreck it Ralph in a nutshell is my foremost favorite animation movie in 2012. Disney has finally able to make a movement that counts. After they're done with fairy tales and musical, we can finally see Disney doing something else worth watching.

Lining up to receive an Oscar this Sunday, I see Wreck It Ralph has all the winning elements that kick out all the other contenders, including Brave.

Disney made a breakthrough by bringing in an unlikely hero, an antihero, that is not the best role model for kids, but definitely a model that kids can totally relate to.
This movie appeals to a wider audience, not just for children but also for adults, as the theme that it picked isn't merely about adventure and comedy, or even princess love. It's about accepting you for who you are. It's about being proud of who you are, and finding a place where you belong, and how to work for what you want.
Don't forget about the place where the movie took place! 8-bit video games. They bring such a nostalgic feelings that older viewers can definitely relate to very well, while showing the children how gaming was done in the past.
A set of unique and distinctive characters with a fun-to-follow plot, Wreck it Ralph really nails it!

I have to be honest that the part where Vanellope turned out to be a princess really brought me down. Because it shows that no matter how hard Disney try to move past fairy tales and princess, it's still their cultural identities that they cannot let go. But above that, I also get the underlying message that we are all princesses, we should be treated like princesses, we should know how to stand up against those who treat us unfairly. Bullying is sure a big thing lately, and in my opinion Disney also tried to highlight the importance of fighting against bullying through Wreck It Ralph.

It's fresh, it's a breath-taking, heart-breaking animation movie. It's not as phenomenal as Toy Story, but Disney Animation Studios is back in the game, the world where Pixar is still dominating.
At least when we compare Brave to Wreck it Ralph, 9 out of 10 people will pick Wreck it Ralph. Such a shame for Pixar. Brave is good, but definitely not the best. The storyline is kinda weak and predictable, and all the notions about a rebel princess doesn't really buy me. Wreck it Ralph all the way! A must watch for all movie goers.
