We are corrupted

Have you ever thought how corrupted your country is? How every person has somehow taken part in the growth of corruption?

For example:
We hate bureaucracy. We want everything to be done fast. As quick as possible, without having to go through any difficulties. In short, we have that instant-minded culture that has rooted so deep, we do nothing about it.

Even commoners are corrupted. How about those who are high above? Those who sit in the government, those who constantly dealing with the public issues, those who 'serve' the people.

I could see this crystal clear as I made a visit to the fire department in my city. It was a small talk: they wanted a trip to another city. A 'visitation' a.k.a a vacation. But they complained about how hard it was now to get the permission and money to do that trip. Every trip made by the government officials has to be known and accepted by the mayor. So if the mayor sees no importance of it, permission won't be granted. They sighed. That was a sad, disappointed sigh.

What made corruption even more problematic is the fact that we let it grow. We let it be. We close our eyes and ears, pretend we don't know anything about it. We know something fishy is going on in our workplace, yet we turn a deaf ear. Only when the related authorities take action that we finally open our mouths. And this is normal. Hooray?

Either we realise it or not, we have contributed to the fall of our country due to corruption. Congratulations. :)

Now the question is: are we willing to take a drastic measure and change? Some people are afraid of changes, too trapped in their 'comfort zone'. How about you?
