Family Guy is coming to life!
That's exactly my first thought when I heard that Seth MacFarlane created a movie. and after I watched ted, well, sue me if i'm wrong. It really feels like Family Guy/ American Dad in the form of live action. the jokes, the sarcasm, the satires.. they're all the same. but since i'm quite fond of Family guy, I have no complain in the resemblance. they're all made by the same person, after all.. :)
ted got me at the idea of a furry teddy bear that came to life. oh man i'm a fan of teddy bears. so i gotta say, i'm in love with the quirky ted. and his bold eyebrows!!! :D
initially, I wanted to write a serious review on ted. but when I started typing, I realized there weren't anything special that I wanna highlight. It's a fun watch. and worth it too. if you hate american dad or family guy, you will hate ted as well (but not ted personally, because no matter how annoying he is, he's still too fluffy to be hated). you'll find a wide variation of swearing, a bunch more of sarcasm, witty jokes, annoying co-workers, jackass bosses, and hookers and smoking pots. the movie is so american. It's whether you love it or you hate it. you can't be in between. cause like usual, Seth Macfarlane puts out a lot of criticism to the USA in the movie. so you know very well what to expect.
if there's one thing I love the most throughout the movie, it gotta be the thunder song.
When you hear the sound of thunder, Don't you get too scared. Just grab your thunder buddy And say these magic words: "Fuck you, thunder! You can suck my dick! You can't get me thunder 'Cause you're just God's farts!"but till the movie ends, i have no idea how the heck could ted fuck a woman when he didn't even have a dick?! -_- (in regards of that issue, here's how ted responses: you have *no* idea how many angry letters I have written to Hasbro about that.)
in short, watch ted when you have time. it's okay. it contains good jokes, good satires, quite satisfying. though there's nothing more to say bout the storyline. it's so-so. definitely not a movie that will glue you to your seat, but enough to make you stay till the credits roll.
"No matter how big a splash you make in this world whether you're Corey Feldman, Frankie Muniz, Justin Bieber or a talking teddy bear, eventually, nobody gives a shit." - ted, 2012
